Madison County's Litter Cleanup Program offers community organizations the opportunity to clean up trash on a County road in exchange for funds for their organization.
Eligibility: Organization must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, be able to provide a W-9 Form to the Finance Office (in order to issue payment at $100.00/mile rate), and are required to sign a legal waiver.
All organizations are required to:
- Attend an information meeting to review their assigned roads
- Sign waivers
- Collect supplies for clean up (trash bags, safety vests, and litter pickup sticks)
- Report back the amount of litter bags picked up
- Return road cleanup supplies.
Groups must register by contacting Solid Waste at (859) 624-4709. Once signed up, staff will determine how many miles of cleanup the groups can accommodate and how many miles they think they can effectively cleanup.
